About US

Denver Skate Lessons was formed in 2018. Focused on helping roller skaters build confidence, strength & speed at all skill levels & all ages! No one wants to get hurt while having fun, so let us teach you the basics & more! Sweat it out as we learn together!

We have created specialized programs to build a solid foundation for street skating, roller rink, speed skating, slalom, roller derby, figure skating and roller dance. At the conclusion of the 8-week programs each skater will have the confidence and skills to advance to a more specialized program for roller sports. Each class will be taught in a structured and fun environment and will work on the skills to advance in each level. Skaters will progress at their own speed and graduate to the next level once skill mastery is demonstrated.

The programs are introductory to skating & roller dance. 8 weeks to complete based on a 1-hour 15 min. class per week. Graduation consists of a certificate with name, class logo, rink contact, teacher signature & T-shirt!

Drop in Classes are available for Skate Fundamentals & Roller Dance Basics to learn at your own pace. You will always learn something new! Come skate with us. Drop ins Offered Monday's 5:00-6:15pm at Roller City West.

Afton Hill

Afton Hill is Owner and Roller Dance Instructor of Denver Skate Lesson. She’s a wife, a mom of 2 rad little girls & 1 fluffy puppy! Her goals in skating are to be as versatile of a skater as possible. After moving to Colorado from Louisiana she immediately began skating with Denver Roller Derby. Her passion for roller skating started many years ago from hearing stories of her mom playing ‘pretend’ roller derby in her grandmother’s carport as a little girl. She is thrilled to be apart of the Denver skate community and even more stoked to instruct new skaters into the Roller Dance community!
